VMware Workstation 7.1 and Hyper-V on the Windows Server 2008 R2

Some days ago, I get one HP DL380 G5 server from one of my friends in project which we all working on it (he is our project manager), so I can install and test Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 edition as well as new feature in Hyper-V.
I had installed and worked a little with Hyper-V, it’s new and cool but lets being honest, It’s not as cool as VMware products are.
I’m still prefer to use VMware Workstation and VMware ESX/ESXi for home and advanced project instead of Hyper-V.
Any way, I’m posting this note because I had tested something I heard before and that’s the new capability of installing and using VMware Workstation and Hyper-V on the same machine.
As I tested previous version of both products (MS Windows 2008 SP2 and VMware Workstation 7.0), there was a problem on running VMware Workstation and Hyper-V on the same box.
So I start testing VMware Workstation 7.1 on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V service role, but it’s just the same as before.
When You have Hyper-V on your system, the VMware Workstation can bot be installed and generating error with the mean of “use other version of windows” or some type of error which you though it’s related to the Windows version.
after removing the Hyper-V service role and restarting the machine, the VMware Workstation just installed as fast and easy as it’s happening on any other OS.
So, as I see we can’t have Hyper-V and Workstation on the same box, but I really appreciate if any body knows a tips or trick and can share it.
