Storage with iSCSI Support – Part 1

Yesterday I had seen new storage from D-Link which supported iSCSI and after this I thought it would be good to check the net and find some storage appliance/server with iSCSI support from different vendors.
So this is part 1 from the result of my search:

1. D-Link DSN-1100-10:
This appliance has 5 bay and able to support up to 10TB (if each HDD be 2TB of course) and as the D-Link site said, it can support more capacity when using HDD with capacity more than 2TB.
As I searched its price on the net its about 1350 $.
More information about this product can be found by this link.

2. Buffalo TeraStation Pro™ II iSCSI – TS-IGL/R5 & TS-RIGL/R5:
TeraStation Pro II iSCSI is available in pedestal (TS-IGL/R5) and 2U rackmount (TS-RIGL/R5) form factors allowing its use in a number of small business environments, each with 4 bay and these bays can support up to 2TB (totally 8TB).
More information can be found by this link.

3. Buffalo TeraStation™ III iSCSI – TS-IXL/R5 & TS-RIXL/R5:
TeraStation III iSCSI is available in pedestal (TS-IXL/R5) and 1U rackmount (TS-RIXL/R5) form factors allowing its use in a number of small business environments, each with 4 bay and these bays can support up to 2TB (totally 8TB).
More information can be found by this link.

4. Iomega® StorCenter™ ix2-200 Network Storage:
Appliance with 2 bays and each bay can have up to 2TB (at least now) HDD, able to serve as NFS and iSCSI server and comes in 3 capacity of 1TB, 2TB and 4 TB.
And one more thing is, this device is VMWare® Certified (HCL certified NAS (NFS) and iSCSI storage for VMware.)
More information can be found by this link.

5. Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d NAS Server:
Appliance with 24 bays and each bay can have up to 2TB (at least now) HDD, able to serve as NFS and iSCSI server and comes in 3 capacity of 2TB, 4TB and 8 TB.
And one more thing is, this device is VMWare® Certified (HCL certified NAS (NFS) and iSCSI storage for VMware.)
More information can be found by this link.

Of course there must be and is, more appliance like these, but these are some options which may use in small lab (or home lab) if you want to (or can) pay for them instead of some software storage server (which I’m using myself now).

So, this would be the first part and I will try to find some other appliance for next part and put the comparison chart for them here.

All comments, ideas and notes are welcome.
