This post is created based on my personal test and what I read on “cliffdavies.com” site (This article was first published by Andre Leibovici ( @andreleibovici ) at “myvirtualcloud.net“) and base on it, if you want “Windows 8 CP” showing up in your “VMware View Administrator Portal” you should make some manual changes on the ADAM which installed by “VMware View”; for process of this change you can check above links.
Below table showing different OS code and their pair OS Name.
| Code | OS |
| 1 | Windows XP |
| 2 | Windows Vista |
| 3 | Windows 2003 |
| 4 | Windows 2008 |
| 5 | Windows 7 |
Screen of what you would get if you changing this number (pae-OSVersion):
Number 1:
Number 2:
Number 3:
Number 4:
Number 5:
Number 6:
Well, I’ve checked but it seems there is no “6” for any OS yet, may be Windows 8 get this number! 😉
